Sending Emails via Moodle (For Students)

This guide explains how students can send messages or emails to trainers and classmates through Moodle.

Method 1: Sending a Message via Participants List

Step 1: Log in to Moodle

  • Enter your username and password.

  • Go to your Dashboard.

  • Select the relevant course.

Step 2: Open the Participants List

  • From the course page, click on Participants.

  • You will see a list of trainers and students enrolled in the course.

Step 3: Select the Person

  • Click on the name of the trainer or student you wish to contact.

  • On their profile page, click on the Message button.

Step 4: Send the Message

  • Type your message in the message box.

  • Click Send.

The recipient will receive the message in Moodle and may also receive a copy in their email (depending on their notification settings).

Method 2: Sending a Message via Messaging Icon

Step 1: Click the Messaging Icon

  • Click on the Message/Chat icon (usually located at the top right corner of Moodle).

Step 2: Search for the Recipient

  • Type the name of the trainer or student in the search bar.

  • Select the correct person from the list.

Step 3: Compose and Send

  • Type your message.

  • Press Enter or click Send.

Important Notes

  • Always use professional and respectful language.

  • Clearly mention the unit code and assessment name when contacting your trainer.

  • Check your spelling and attachments before sending.

  • Regularly monitor your Moodle messages and email notifications.
